Supreme Court Admission Programs

Touro Law Center is pleased to coordinate a Supreme Court Admission trip once every three years, sponsoring a group admissions ceremony for Touro Law Center Alumni to the Bar of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Touro Law Center is sponsoring a group admissions ceremony to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court for Touro Law alumni. Please join us for a Cocktail Reception on Sunday, June 5 and Admissions Ceremony on Monday, June 6, 2016. Attorneys admitted to practice in a state court on or before June 6 are eligible for admissions to the Bar of the United State Supreme Court. The program is limited to the first 50 Touro Law alumni who meet the above criteria and who register and complete the court application forms no later than April 8th. Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received.

Admission and Registration Fees:
The Touro Law Program registration fee is $150 per person. The fee includes a reception on Sunday, June 5th, transportation to and from the U.S. Supreme Court, a continental breakfast and lunch on Monday, June 6th, and one complimentary copy of the group photograph of admittees. The admissions fee for the U.S. Supreme Court is $200. This includes a decorative certificate suitable for framing. The registration and admissions fee can be paid together, either by check payable and mailed to Touro Law Center, or by credit card over the phone.

Court Application Process:
Complete the "Application for Admission to Practice" (the link to the application is in the "What to do next" section). Patricia E. Salkin, Dean of Touro Law Center, will serve as one of your sponsors and will move the admission of the group at the ceremony. Type her name in the blank space underneath "Statement of Sponsors" and type her business address below the statement (225 Eastview Drive, Central Islip, NY 11722).

We will obtain her signature for you. You will need a second sponsor. If you have a second sponsor (who knows you personally, is not related to you, and is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court), type his/her name in the second blank space underneath "Statement of Sponsors" and type the sponsor's address in the space provided. Have the sponsor sign on the line above his/her address. If you do not have a second sponsor, please contact the Law Center Alumni Office for a list of Law Center faculty members who are admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. Please do not fill out the section "Motion for Admission".

An original Certificate of Good Standing is required. To obtain your certificate, contact the clerk of the department in which you were admitted. Allow three weeks for the delivery of certificates. Certificates must be dated within one year of the date of application.

U.S. Supreme Court Rules:
It is a rule of the U.S. Supreme Court that only one guest per application will be allowed into the courtroom to observe the ceremony. This policy is strictly enforced. Absolutely no cameras are allowed during the ceremony. Children under six years of age will not be permitted in the courtroom.
