Full-Time JD Program - Fall & Spring

Touro Law Center’s full-time Juris Doctor (JD) program combines an innovative, enriching legal curriculum with rigorous practical training. Designed for students ready to hit the ground running, our full-time law degree prepares graduates for bar passage and diverse legal careers in New York and nationwide.

Beyond required foundational coursework, you can customize your legal education by choosing from an extensive array of practice-oriented courses, specialized pathways, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Guaranteed Experiential Learning & Public Advocacy
Every full-time student at Touro Law is guaranteed a clinic and/or externship placement. This ensures you gain real-world legal experience, build a professional network, and work with actual clients under the supervision of experienced attorneys.

  • On-Campus Public Advocacy Center (PAC): Collaborate directly with local and national non-profit organizations housed right on our campus through the William Randolph Hearst Public Advocacy Center.
  • Practice-Ready Skills: Develop your advocacy, legal writing, and trial preparation skills through our extensive hands-on legal clinics and externship programs.

Program Timeline & Flexible Start Dates
The traditional full-time law school path spans three years, but Touro provides flexible options to fit your timeline:

  • Standard Timeline: Complete your JD degree in 3 years with a course load of 14–16 credits per semester. Classes are held on weekdays.
  • Accelerated Law Degree: Graduate in just 2.5 years by attending summer sessions.
  • Twice-a-Year Enrollment:** We accept new full-time students for both Fall (August) and Spring (January) terms. 

The January Start Option
If you are applying later in the admissions cycle or prefer not to wait until the traditional fall semester, our January Start Option allows you to begin your legal education immediately. Touro Law is committed to providing flexible, accessible pathways to earning your law degree without delaying your professional goals.
