Touro Law Center's Office of Development, Alumni Relations and Communications is proud to announce that Thomas Rosicki ’97 has been selected as the alum of the month for August 2012. Mr. Rosicki is a leader in his profession, on the Law Center’s Board of Governors and is a strong supporter of the law school and graduates. His accomplished career is highlighted in the bio below. On behalf of the entire law school community, we extend our congratulations to Thomas Rosicki.
Thomas Rosicki and his wife Cynthia are the Founding Principals of Rosicki, Rosicki & Associates, Attorneys at Law, a leading mortgage banking real estate law firm, with main offices located in Plainview, New York. Their firm has five offices throughout New York State and employs over 350 attorneys and paralegals, and counts JP Morgan Chase, Citibank and FannieMae among their clients.
Rosicki, Rosicki & Associates received the New York State Rehabilitation Association Business Industry award for 2004, and numerous disability employment awards from the New York State Senate and Assembly, AHRC, The Rehabilitation Institute, the U.S. Congress, and Abilities Inc., for their employment of people with disabilities. Tom also received NDEAM’s (National Disability Employment Awareness Month) disabled advocate of the year award for 2005. Over 24% of the firm’s employees were recruited from organizations assisting people with disabilities. In 2007 Tom was the recipient of the David Award, presented by Networking Magazine to individuals who make contributions to the greater good in the spirit of giving. In November 2008, Tom received Touro Law Center’s “With Liberty and Justice for All” award for his work ensuring equal opportunity for with people with disabilities.
Prior to the opening of their law firm, Tom served as an FBI Agent, Organized Crime Division, in Baltimore, St. Louis, and New York. After the FBI, New York City Mayor Ed Koch appointed Tom to become Deputy Commissioner of the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission. After city government, Tom moved to the private sector and rose to Vice President Director of Security for Macy’s, responsible for over 60 stores, and security for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. While managing the law firm, Tom also was appointed Chairman of the Nassau County Parole Board by County Executive Tom Gulotta.
Tom currently serves on the Board of Governors of Touro Law Center, as Board Member and Past President of AHRC Nassau, on the business advisory board of The Rehabilitation Institute, and is past Chairman of the Society of Former FBI Agents, NYC Chapter. The Rosicki Law Firm initiated and hosts an annual fundraiser for “Hunter’s Hope” in Buffalo, New York. Hunter’s Hope is a foundation begun by Pro Football Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly and his wife Jill, benefiting children born with Krabbe’s disease.
In October 2009, Tom & Cynthia opened their newest venture, Sparkling Pointe Winery & Vineyard located on the North Fork of Long Island, exclusively making Methode Champenoise Sparkling Wines. Sparkling Pointe’s Brut Seduction 2000 took First Place in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition over every sparkling wine made in America, including the California French Champagne Houses of Mumm and Roederer. In 2008 and 2011 Tom & Cynthia took First Place in Rio de Janeiro’s Carnaval competition with their samba school Beija Flor.
Tom Rosicki is a graduate of Chaminade High School, Duke University, the FBI Academy, and Touro Law Center.
