| The
Gould Law Library - one of the principal resources of Touro Law Center - encourages and supports teaching, study, and scholarly research through our collection and services. We make every effort to provide the best reference, research, and practice materials in a combination of print, microform, audio-visual, and electronic formats. Our collection of more than 420,000 law and law-related volumes and microform equivalents includes reporters, statutes, periodicals, treatises, historical, and other important materials. Computerized systems - CALI, LexisNexis, Westlaw, online databases, CD-Rom products, and the internet - further strengthen the resources available to our users.
Several special collections support the range of interest of the law school community. Of particular interest are the Scholars' Collection of rare English, American, and foreign legal works of significant historical importance, and the Judaica Collection, which focuses on Jewish law, supporting the courses offered in Jewish law and the work of the Institute of Jewish Law. In addition, the library is an official depository for selected United States and New York State government publications.
An exceptional circulation staff assists with general use of the library facility and helps with information, reserve, and circulating materials. Experienced and dedicated reference librarians, several of whom hold law as well as library and information science degrees, assist users with reference and legal research queries, provide both formal and informal research tutorials, and prepare research and other bibliographic guides. The Technical Services and administrative staffs make every effort to acquire and process materials efficiently. The entire library staff is committed to providing the best possible service to our community, and we look forward to working with you.
