AMICUS, Touro Law Center's Lesbian Gay Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Law Student Association
AMICUS welcomes all law students and faculty members who are interested in advocating for the rights of LGBT people. AMICUS organizes events throughout the year focusing on legal issues which involve LGBT people. Our monthly member meetings also provide a safe space for LGBT law students, faculty, staff, and straight allies to discuss their experiences, and share ideas for projects that we can work on. Additionally, AMICUS is establishing an LGBT ProBono Project. Through the cooperative efforts of LeGaL, the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York, and AMICUS, the LeGaL Assistance Project is being established to provide free limited legal assistance to LGBT Long Island community members who need referrals and legal assistance on a range of legal issues. If interested in becoming a member of AMICUS or being a student volunteer for the LeGaL Assistance project, please join our TWEN page.
