72 THE TO URO LAWYER FALL 201 5 C L A S S N OT E S traveled to the Golan Heights which is at the front lines of the battle advising and mentoring Israeli defense forces. He met Israeli Defense Forces wounded veterans and coached soldiers on using coping skills to help deal with war wounds practiced peer mediation and bonded at group sessions in the military section of the hospital. 2004 Sheila Ann Johnson was nominated to the Suffolk Youth Advisory Board Suffolk County Legislator and Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory. Sheila was selected as an honoree in the Unsung Hero category at the November 13th 2014 Leaders In Law Awards Event hosted by the Long Island Business News. 2005 Kristine Pizzo formerly an executive at Columbia University has joined the New York Power Authority NYPA as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Kristine will oversee all employee benefits programs services and talent development at the Power Authority which has 1700 employees in New York State including 600 at its administrative headquarters in White Plains. 2006 Pierre Bazile appeared as a Guest on Hot 97s radio show Street Soldiers on January 11 2015. Pierre is a criminal defense attorney serving New York City Nassau and Suffolk Counties. He is also a retired police officer and a graduate of the New York City Police Academy. Prior to his 2007 admission to the Bar he served for fourteen years as a police officer with the New York City Police Department serving in commands in Washington Heights Harlem Brooklyn and the Bronx. 2007 John P. Christopher has been promoted to Partner at Sahn Ward and Coschignano PLLC. He previously served as an Associate of the Firm. John concentrates his practice in the areas of municipal law zoning and land use planning real estate law and transactions and commercial and residential landlordtenant disputes. In both 2013 and 2014 Metro New York Super Lawyers selected Mr. Christopher to its list of Rising Stars in the legal profession. He was recognized in the practice area of Real Estate Law. In 2014 he received the Long Island Business News Leadership in Law award in the category of Associate. Mr. Christopher has had several legal articles published including The Unsettled Law of Eminent Domain which appeared in the SpringWinter 2010 issue of Report from Counsel and two articles for The Nassau Lawyer Current Issues in Land Use and Zoning The Impact of an Increase of Business at a Property with an Established Pre-Existing Nonconforming Use April 2009 and Temporary Zoning and Planning Moratoriums April 2007. 2008 Michael Ciaccio joined Boyle Anderson P.C. as an Associate Attorney in October 2014. Michael gained his legal experience with two Long Island law firms before starting his own law practice in Hempstead New York in 2011. For the last four years Michael served an array of clients throughout New York City Long Island and Westchester County. As a Member of Boyle Anderson his areas of practice include Commercial Litigation LandlordTenant Personal Injury and Real Estate. 2011 Daniel G. De Pasquale was recently honored by the Suffolk County Bar Association for his Pro Bono efforts. Daniel is a member and founder of the firm Daniel G. De Pasquale P.C. Attorneys at Law . He has represented an array of clients in banking estate and real property related litigation matters among others. Prior to founding the firm Daniel gained years of valuable experience at Cullen and Dykman LLP wherein he represented lenders banks and other financial institutions in litigation and transactional matters. He also has experience representing clients in a variety of matters including insurance defense trusts and estates personal injury and family law. While in law school Mr. De Pasquale served as an intern to the Honorable John B. Riordan of the Nassau County Surrogates Court. Jason W. Klimek has joined Blitman King in Rochester as an Associate. Prior to joining Blitman King Klimek worked for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York as a staff attorney. Jason counsels private and public employee benefit plans concerning issues arising under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. He advises sponsors of multi-employer and single-employer plans companies and tax-exempt entities on plan amendments drafting tax implications fiduciary responsibilities and prohibited transactions. Jason is recognized in corporate tax matters and has published in the Journal of Corporate Taxation. Prior to joining Blitman King LLP Jay attended Boston Universitys Graduate Tax Program where he received an LL.M. in Taxation. Before his LL.M. Jay was a Pro Se Staff Attorney in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York where he drafted numerous decisions for active U.S. district court judges regarding Civil Rights and various other federal statutory and constitutional law. Michael Meyers joined The Law Offices of Clifford J. Petroske P.C. back in November 2011 and recently announced his partnership at the newly re-named firm Petroske Riezenman Meyers P.C. Patricia Sturm recently accepted a position as a bi- lingual staff attorney with Long Island Housing Services.
