Women's History Month
Women's History Month is celebrated each March. It began as a week-long observance which Congress approved beginning on March 7, 1982 as Women's History Week. Eventually, in March 1985 Congress designated March as Women's History Month. The month-long celebration celebrates the contributions women have made to the United States and recognizes the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.
