September 4, 2012

Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center is pleased to announce that Joshua D. Falda is the first-ever recipient of the Morris E. Fischer, LLC Scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year. This prestigious new scholarship is awarded to one full-time student who earns the highest mark in the Jewish Law class and who demonstrates a strong appreciation for the importance and contributions to Jewish Law.

Mr. Falda received his B.A. from Brooklyn College and plans to graduate from Touro Law in 2013. He plans to practice law in New York and is interested in both voter rights and campaign finance reform and return to politics after law school. He worked at Addabbo & Greenberg, a criminal defense, personal injury and real estate law firm, for two summers and was an intern with Congressman Anthony Wiener prior to attending law school. He resides in Brooklyn, NY.

The annual scholarship was started in 2012 by Touro alumni Morris E. Fischer, Esq. ’95 as a token of his gratitude to his Jewish heritage and to Touro Law Center, which fostered a nourishing and supportive environment for him in some of the most formative years of his professional and personal life. After graduating from Touro Law, Mr. Fischer began to engage in a serious course of Jewish law study, including studying several sections of the Talmud and Mishna. Touro Law offers fellowships, scholarships and incentive awards to incoming students as well as returning students, based on academic achievements.
