Touro Law Center Hosts 22nd Annual CLE Supreme Court Review Nov. 5th
November 3, 2010Central Islip, NY – Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center will host the 22nd Annual Leon D. Lazer Supreme Court Review on Friday, November 5th 2010, from 8:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m.
Program highlights include an overview of last year’s Supreme Court Term and a Preview of this year’s Term, as well as discussion about First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Eighth Amendment Rights, Criminal Law and Procedure, Employment Discrimination, Attorney’s Fees, and Lawyering Issues.
Cases will be discussed and analyzed by a distinguished panel of jurists, constitutional scholars, and civil rights experts including Professor Erwin Cherminsky, Dean and Distinguished Professor of Law, University of California, Irvine School of Law, Professor Leon Friedman, Hofstra University School of Law, and Touro Law Professors Martin Schwartz, Eileen Kaufman, and Richard Klein. The Program is chaired by The Honorable Leon D. Lazer, Professor of Law, Touro Law Center, Associate Appellate Division, New York State Supreme Court (Retired). The October 2009 Term was the first year of Justice Sotomayors’ tenure and the last year of Justice Stevens’ 35 year tenure. With the Roberts Court having completed its fifth year, the Court moved significantly to the right. No lawyer interested in how constitutional law affects the nation as well as the practice of law should miss this program.
