Appellate Advocacy - LAW708

This seminar integrates substantive procedure with the practice of appellate litigation. The focus of the class is to prepare an appellate brief and an oral argument. Individual sessions emphasize the central problems of appellate litigation, including practice in the federal and New York appellate courts, appeal-ability, reviewability, scope of appellate review, advocacy, brief writing, oral argument, and opinion writing. (No prerequisite.)
