Women's History Month

Welcome to our Women's History Month page! This celebration, which runs each year from March 1 through March 31, celebrates the contributions that women have made to American history. This celebration has its origins in Pub. L. 97-28, which authorized the President to declare the week of March 7, 1982, "Women's History Week." In 1987, that week became "Women's History Month." Each year, we stop to honor the work that women have done to improve so many aspects of our lives, from law, to politics, to the sciences, to the arts, and everything else in between.
