Uber & the Law

Date/Time(s)
Monday, November 23
  • 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Location
FCR/BDR

Description

The smartphone technology disruption movement is probably one of the most significant developments in a generation - defining a generation and a business culture - within the waves of a dynamic legal, political and ethical maelstrom.   At the forefront of the so-called sharing economy marketing machine is a controversial company and service known as Uber, which is allegedly one of the largest and fastest growing start-ups in world history, and one accused of running afoul of the law.

Touro Law alum and NYC Taxi and Limousine Commissioner/General Counsel, Matthew W. Daus, now a transportation lawyer, professor and regulatory expert, will provide a comprehensive review of the movement, an exploration of the plethora of international litigation and legislative developments, and how a little smartphone app is quickly changing the world - from logistics, to big data, to autonomous vehicles.  Come along for the ride – legal or not!
