Professor Samuel Levine will contrast principles of discretion underlying American legal ethic codes with the concept of obligation central to Jewish law and ethics. The discussion will explore a number of areas in which American legal ethics rules might turn to Jewish thought as a model for incorporating a more robust notino of ethical obligation.
