Expert Legal Systems: Increasing A2J Through Automation Description - LAWN1619

3 Credits

In this course, students will learn to employ scalable technology in the form of automated expert systems to solve legal problems. Each student will learn to use cloud-based software (this does NOT require “programming”) provided by Neota Logic to design and author (i.e., construct or build) an automated system that will use expertise to help solve a defined legal problem for a designated group of intended users. While learning basic “design and authoring” skills, students will also work in teams to identify and define a problem suitable for solution by an automated expert legal system. Each team should have the opportunity to complete an expert system for use by a legal service provider or public interest group.
