Corporate America faces an array of compliance challenges from state, federal and self-regulatory organizations. As corporations seek to navigate this ever increasing regulatory environment, compliance officers are in high demand. The Bureau of Labor statistics projects about 11,000 new compliance jobs in the next seven years. This course will give an overview into corporate compliance in the United States. It will explore how compliance regulation is often reactionary in nature. Further, the course will examine the role of the attorney both as in-house counsel and as a compliance officer. The course will examine how to analyze, develop, and implement compliance policy. (No prerequisite.)
