This course emphasizes practice skills in a format that requires 140 hours in a field placement, 10 hours in the classroom, and 4 hours of professional development workshops. Students work approximately 20 hours per week in private law firms, corporate law departments, government legal offices including the office of the District Attorney, or non-profit/public interest legal groups. Students’ responsibilities in their placements may include: attending court or administrative proceedings or participating in business transactions; interviewing, negotiating, and counseling; researching and drafting pleadings and memoranda. (Prerequisite: Professional Responsibility.)
