SPEAKERS:

Miri Bar-Halpern
Director of Intensive Outpatient Treatment Service, Boston Child Study Center; Clinical Instructor in Psychology, Harvard Medical School
Dr. Bar-Halpern provides consultation and professional workshops nationally and internationally about evidence-based treatment to psychiatric hospitals, mental health organizations, and schools. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Tel Aviv University and her master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Hartford with the highest honors, including the Regent Honor Award. Born and raised in Israel, Dr. Bar-Halpern highly values culturally sensitive intervention and offers therapy and training in both English and Hebrew.
Oren Gross
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Irving Younger Professor of Law, University of Minnesota Law School; Senior Research Affiliate, Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany
Professor Gross is an internationally recognized expert in international law, national security law, and the Middle East and the Arab-Israeli conflict. He holds an LL.B. degree magna cum laude from Tel Aviv University (graduating 1st in his class), and LL.M. and S.J.D. degrees from Harvard Law School. He served as a senior legal advisory officer in the international law branch of the Israeli Defense Forces’ Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
Marie-Alice Legrand
J.D. Candidate '24, Columbia University
Marie-Alice Legrand is a J.D. candidate at Columbia Law School (class of 2024). A German native, she holds a B.A. in History and a Master in Economic Law from Sciences Po Paris as well as a Master in Law and International Management from HEC Paris. She is admitted to the Paris Bar Association. After law school she will join the corporate practice group at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
Talia Segal
B.S. Candidate ’24, Georgia Institute of Technology
Talia Segal is a fourth-year Biomedical Engineering student at Georgia Tech where they serve as President of Hillel and has been a member of Hillel International’s Israel Leadership Network since 2022. Since October 7, Talia has stepped up to advocate for Jewish students against rising campus antisemitism, and plans to continue their work after graduation.

Dr. Alan Kadish is the president of Touro University. He is also a noted educator, researcher, and administrator who is training the next generation of communal, business, and healthcare leaders.
Samuel J. Levine
Professor of Law, Director of the Jewish Law Institute
Professor Samuel J. Levine is the Director of the Jewish Law Institute at Touro Law Center. He is also a prolific writer, and author of Was Yosef on the Spectrum? Understanding Joseph Through Torah, Midrash and Classical Jewish Sources, and Jewish Law and American Law: A Comparative Study.
