This course provides an overview of the law governing international sales of goods and international commercial arbitration, focusing primarily on the U.N. Convention on the International Sale of Goods, the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration, and the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards. The course is offered during the first half of the fall semester, meeting twice a week for one hundred minutes each class meeting (i.e., based on a normal 4 credit schedule), beginning on the first week of classes and ending in early October with a two hour exam. This class ends in early October so that students may, if they choose, take the International Sales Law & Arbitration Practice Module, which begins in early October in the same class time slots as this class. (Students who have completed International Commercial Law and Dispute Resolution (Croatia) may not take this doctrinal 2 credit course, but may take the associated Practice Module)
