Touro Law Welcomes Jeannéa L. Baptiste ’15, Assistant Director in the Office of Career and Professional Development

Touro Law Dean Elena B. Langan is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeannéa L. Baptiste ’15 who will be serving as Assistant Director in the Office of Career and Professional Development. 
 
“Ms. Baptiste brings a unique perspective to the students and alumni that the Office of Career and Professional Development serves having more than 10 years of work experience in a variety of fields and being a graduate of the law school,” stated Dean Langan. “We look forward to her contributions to the law school community.”
 
Ms. Baptiste will counsel and advise law students and alumni, who have lifetime privileges in Touro Law’s Office of Career and Professional Development, regarding career goals and provide guidance for employment, internships, externships and judicial clerkships. She will also be responsible for assisting students and alumni with job interview and document preparation. 
 
Ms. Baptiste received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University, her Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University and her Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2015. While a law student, Ms. Baptiste was a member of the Moot Court Honors Board and received a Best Oralist Award for the National Child Welfare & Adoption Law Moot Court Competition, and she served as a judicial intern for the Nassau County Courts.
 
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Baptiste worked for the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York.
 
After law school, Ms. Baptiste became an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the Family Court Division of the New York City Law Department and served as a mentor for Legal Outreach.  She has more than 10 years of experience working in the legal, education, insurance and journalism fields.
 
“I am thrilled to be back at Touro Law, helping students and alumni find their path to the perfect career and helping to give them the tools and guidance they need to get the job they want,” stated Ms. Baptiste. “I am excited to share my knowledge and experience to benefit Touro Law students and alumni.” 
 
Ms. Baptiste is a member of the American Bar Association.
