Full-Time Programs

Regular 3-Year J.D. Program – Students in these programs take a course load totaling 12-16 credits per semester and attend classes on weekdays. Most full-time students complete the J.D. program within 3 years, but may accelerate to 2 ½ years by attending summer sessions. Classes begin in spring and fall every year.

Two-Year Accelerated J.D. Program – In addition to attending classes during the fall and spring semesters, students in this program will also take classes in the winter and summer sessions. Students selected for this program will complete all requirements for the J.D. degree during a concentrated and rigorous 24-month period. This program will make it possible for graduates to sit for a Bar Examination only 26 months after they begin their law school.  In-person interviews may be required.

Transfer students and visiting students are admitted for the fall, spring, or summer semester. All candidates may apply to attend on a full-time or part-time basis.

January Start Option – Touro Law has a January start option available for those students who are applying late in the process and would prefer to start in January rather than wait until August. Touro Law is committed to providing students with flexible options to earn their degree.

Part-Time Programs

Four-Year Part-Time Day and Four-Year Part-Time Evening – Students in the 4 -year part-time programs take a course load of 11 credits per semester and attend classes during the day, Monday through Friday, or in the evening, Monday through Thursday (from 6:30 p.m. to around 10:00 p.m.).

Students may accelerate completion of the program by one semester by attending summer sessions.

FlexTime J.D. Program - This program was designed to accommodate the schedules of students who might typically enter a part-time program but require even more flexibility for work or family obligations. Students in the FlexTime JD program will be able to complete the requirements for their degree in just under four years through a combination of online and on-campus components.

Generally, the program requires on-campus classes every other Sunday during the first two years as well as online requirements. Subsequently, FlexTime students will be able to take many courses entirely online during the third and final years. Learn more here.
