Visiting Professor of Law
James Hart
joins the faculty at the Touro Law Center for the 2026-2027 academic year. He
graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, receiving the
Faculty Prize for graduating first in his class and the Hardaway Memorial Prize
awarded to the most outstanding graduate.
Professor
Hart will teach Constitutional Law and the First Amendment at Touro Law. He has
previously taught at Stetson University College of Law and at the University of
Denver Sturm College of Law, where his courses included a seminar that he
designed on the history of the United States Supreme Court. While in private
practice, he was a partner in the litigation firm of Choquette & Hart LLP.
Professor
Hart is widely published on issues of Constitutional Law. His recent book, The
U.S. Supreme Court in American Society: Historical Perspectives, was
published by Edward Elgar Publishing in 2025.
A
classically trained violinist, Professor Hart attended The Juilliard School,
Oberlin Conservatory, and the Peabody Institute. He served as a violinist in
the Colorado Symphony for many years.
