Patricia Baia, PhD Selected as an AI Fellow
Touro Law Center’s Assistant Dean of Teaching Effectiveness, Patricia Baia Ph.D., has been selected to serve as an AI Fellow for the Touro University Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) Faculty Fellows Program. She will be working with all faculty across the Touro University System for the 2026 calendar year.
Baia stated, “I’m thrilled to serve as an AI Fellow for the University, where my focus is on creating small, low-stakes, and approachable opportunities for all faculty to explore AI. At Touro, we don’t have a single “faculty profile”; we have an ecosystem. My goal is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and motivate engagement without anyone feeling overwhelmed, while also fostering a supportive, collaborative community. Through hands-on exploration, shared learning, and practical, ready-to-use AI strategies, I hope to help faculty grow their AI confidence and competence together, ultimately enriching the educational experience for our students.”
Baia has set the following goals for her Fellowship:
- Strengthen Faculty AI Confidence and Competence
- Build a Sustainable Faculty AI Learning Ecosystem
- Deliver High-Impact AI Professional Development Experiences
- Establish a Peer Mentorship Network for Ongoing Support
- Advance AI-Enhanced Course and Curriculum Design
Dean Elena Langan stated, “Dr. Baia has been an invaluable resource to the Law Center faculty and students and I am confident that she will help to advance the use of AI across the Touro University system as a Fellow.”
