In Memoriam: Retired Professor Marianne Artusio
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Marianne Artusio, a cherished member of the Touro Law community.
Professor Marianne Artusio worked full-time at Touro Law Center from 1993 to 2018. She served as the Director of Clinical Programs from 1988 to 2013 and also served as Director of the Elder Law Clinic from 1993-2018. As Director of Clinical Programs she supervised all of the clinical and externship programs. As Director of the Elder Law Clinic she taught students while also providing and overseeing services to senior citizens in the community on legal matters relating to wills, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, consumer issues, age discrimination, pension, nursing home, adult care, and health care. Professor Artusio also served as one of the directors of Touro’s Summer Discovery Program in India. After retiring from the full-time faculty in 2018 Professor Artusio continued as an Adjunct Professor of Law.
Professor Artusio was a caring and thoughtful person with a generous heart. She was a dedicated professional. She always went above and beyond to assist her clients and was always available to anyone who had questions or needed advice. She was beloved by all who knew her.
