Touro Law Student Named NYCBA Diversity Fellow
March 31, 2026Touro Law Center Dean Elena Langan is pleased to announce that 1L Angad Singh has been selected for the highly competitive New York City Bar Association Diversity Fellowship Program. He will be joining Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP as a 2026 Summer Associate in the firm’s New York City Office.
The selection criteria for Program Fellows are demanding, including a legal writing requirement, preparation of a personal statement, and an interview.
"Angad's selection for the NYCBA Diversity Fellowship is a tremendous achievement and a testament to his talent, dedication, and character,” stated Dean Langan. “I am confident that he will represent himself and Touro Law with distinction."
Singh's path to law is a deeply personal one. While his mother battled cancer, he found himself navigating complex medical and legal documents on her behalf — an experience that ignited his interest in the law and sharpened his ability to communicate with clarity and empathy. After earning his undergraduate degree, Singh joined a personal injury law firm as a legal assistant, where his dedication and initiative earned him a promotion to pre-litigation leader. In this role, he led a team and acted as a firm-wide advisor. That experience solidified his commitment to the legal profession and inspired him to pursue law school.
“The fellowship is designed to advance diversity and inclusion in the legal profession through partnerships with institutions that share that commitment, a mission that deeply resonates with me,” states Singh.
Singh hopes to contribute to technology transactions by working on matters at the intersection of artificial intelligence and its regulation. "I am excited to see how the law adapts to govern an industry growing at an exponential rate, and how that, in turn, shapes innovative practices," he stated. Singh added that he looks forward to demonstrating the work ethic he fostered through perseverance and to encouraging others to pursue their ambitions with the resilience that adversity so often demands.
