Johanna C. David-Young joined Touro Law in 2025 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law. She also serves as Of Counsel at Jaspan Schlesinger Narendran LLP in the firm’s Trust & Estates practice group.
Professor David-Young has extensive experience in complex trusts and estates matters. Her diversified practice includes advising clients on asset protection, intricate planning strategies, and tax issues, including capital gains. She also counsels clients on Medicaid planning and asset protection options. She is admitted to the bar in the State of New York as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts.
Professor David-Young is a former Adjunct Professor of Law at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she taught Estate Planning and Advanced Estate Planning to Second and Third Year law students.
Additionally, Professor David-Young is Co-Chair of the Law Student Program Committee for the Estate Planning Council of Long Island. She is also a Member of the Haitian American Lawyers Association of New York; Moxxie Network LLC; the Estate Planning Council of Long Island, Inc; the New York State Bar Association Elder Law Section and Trust & Estates Section; and the Nassau County Bar Association, where she serves as Vice Chair of the Elder Law, Social Services & Health Advocacy Committee.
