Health Law II - LAWN744
3 CreditsThis course is designed to examine the laws that regulate the healthcare industry in the United States. The course will guide the study of three primary areas of healthcare regulation: 1. Health insurance and reform (medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, health economics, cost/quality/access); 2. Fraud and abuse (false claims, antikickback, stark, antitrust, ERISA, etc); 3. Professional responsibility (corporate practice of medicine, labor and employment; health care organizational structure and corporate governance with fiduciary duties). This course is the half of a two part series designed to form the foundation for much of the health law curriculum. It can be taken either before or after Health Law I but the foundation is not complete until both courses are complete.
