Touro Law Faculty Presence at AALS 2022!

A number of Touro Law faculty members participated in this year’s AALS Annual Meeting while others are taking leadership positions in AALS sections. The 2022 Conference, “Freedom, Equality, and the Common Good,” was held virtually from January 5- 9. The annual conference is the largest gathering of law faculty in the world.

Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor John Linarelli
Associate Dean Linarelli has been elected as Chair-Elect for the Section on Scholarship and to the Executive Committee of the Section on International Law. He also serves as Treasurer for the Section on Law and the Social Sciences, on the Executive Committee of the Section on Law and Anthropology, and as Touro Law’s School Representative in the AALS House of Representatives.

Kermit Gitenstein Distinguished Professor of Health Law & Policy and Professor of Legal Process Joan Foley
Professor Foley is on the slate for the Chair-Elect position of the 2022 AALS Aging and the Law Section.

Director of the Jewish Law Institute and Professor of Law Samuel J. Levine
Professor Levine remains on the Executive Committee of the Section on Jewish Law and of the Section on Professional Responsibility.

Director of the Institute on Land Use & Sustainable Development and Professor of Law Michael Lewyn
Professor Lewyn is on the slate to be Secretary of the Property Section.

Being Honored at SALT 2022

And, while the AALS conference is going on, three Touro Law professors – Provost Salkin, Professor Sara Berman, and Professor Emerita Eileen Kaufman – will be among those receiving the inaugural “Essence of SALT Award for the Collaboratory on Legal Education and Licensing for Practice.” They will receive the award at SALT’S 2022 Annual Celebration on January 7 at 7:15 pm.
