ABOUT
This program will examine the rapidly evolving legal and regulatory landscape surrounding offshore wind development off the coast of Long Island and the broader Northeast. Attorneys, policymakers, and energy professionals will discuss topics including federal and state permitting, environmental review, coastal land use considerations, and the economic and workforce impacts of offshore wind projects. With several major wind farms planned or underway in the waters off Long Island, the program will provide timely insight into the legal challenges and opportunities associated with advancing renewable energy, while balancing environmental protection, community concerns, and regional energy needs.
This program is co-sponsored by Greenberg Traurig, LLP, REI (Real Estate Institute of SUNY Stonybrook), The Environmental Law Society of Touro Law and Public Interest Law Organization of Touro (PILOT).
Refreshments will be served for in-person attendees.
