The Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center’s Institute for Health Law, Bioethics, and Policy is calling for proposals to participate in the annual symposium. This year’s symposium will focus on artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. Speakers will include experts in healthcare law, technology, bioethics and policy. Their contributions will explore the rapidly evolving intersection of AI technologies and healthcare regulation.
Contributors to the symposium will highlight both the transformative potential and the legal challenges of integrating AI into the healthcare industry. The symposium will be held at 3 Times Square on Monday, February 2, 2026.
- Regulatory Landscape: Presentations will focus on current and emerging regulatory frameworks for AI in healthcare, including FDA oversight, HIPAA compliance, and harmonizing international and domestic regulations.
- Legal and Ethical Challenges: Presentations will focus on the challenges presented by AI-driven healthcare, including algorithmic bias, data privacy, informed consent, and adherence to existing healthcare compliance regulations.
- Liability and Risk Management: Presentations will focus on analysis liability when AI fails and leads to negative outcomes, specifically focused on the AI developers, healthcare providers, and institutions.
- Data Governance and Security: Presentations will focus on the legal implications of using AI, managing protected healthcare information within institutions, and during cross-institutional sharing. Emphasis will be on maintaining patient privacy in the face of datasets and machine learning.
All invited speakers will be offered the opportunity to publish in the symposium edition of the Touro Law Review. Articles may be a variety of lengths but should focus on the topic of AI in health care.
