Antisemitism Law

The Antisemitism Law Clinic will offer students the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of antisemitism and the law by working on various components of antidiscrimination litigation and legislation, from motion practice to discovery requests to appellate briefing to the drafting and marking up of bills. Students in the clinic will be assigned a semester-long caseload, and their work will be overseen and supervised by the Professor. Depending on their interests and experience, students will have the chance to:

• Work with local, state, and federal legislators, as well as partner organizations across the political spectrum, to pass challenge-proof antisemitism bills that align with the First Amendment using the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition to identify anti-Jewish conduct and practices.
• Work with one or more of several vetted partner law firms and legal nonprofits that work on real antisemitism cases, including Title VI, Title VII, Section 1983, ATA, and FACE Act claims. Students may also choose instead to focus on antisemitism in the international legal sphere, including at the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, working with one of several trusted NGO's.
• Provide research and strategic litigation support (e.g., assistance on specific legal research projects, white papers, amicus briefs for antisemitism cases, etc.).
• Participate in environments ranging from UN forums and congressional hearings to academic antisemitism conferences.

It is expected that each student will work on a minimum of two cases, and at least one piece of legislation. To the greatest extent possible, students will be integrated into the practice of the law firm(s) to which they are assigned. While student work will be overseen by Professor Goldfeder, students will also learn to work with other associates, partners, and law firm staff.

March 2026: Students in our Antisemitism Law Clinic accompanied clinic director Mark Goldfeder to Washington DC where he was testifying at the US Commission on Civil Rights. The students met with leaders in various related fields.

June 2025: Director of the Antisemitism Law Clinic and Assistant Professor Mark Goldfeder (center) took two incoming Antisemitism Law Clinic students, Jacob Gaon and David Rofeh, to the White House yesterday. Among the people they met with during their visit were the leaders of the DOJ Task Force on Antisemitism, the Deputy Secretary of Labor, the Senior Director for Counterterrorism, and other senior White House officials.
